Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: October 19th, 2025
Entity: The Carpocratian Church of Commonality and Equality, Inc. (“Church,” “we,” “us,” or “our”)
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using this website (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you must not use the Site. Your continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of the Terms in effect at the time of use.
2. Use of Site and Content
The Site and all writings, books, graphics, and other materials made available through it (collectively, the “Content”) are provided for personal, non-commercial, educational, and spiritual purposes. Except as expressly permitted under applicable license terms or law, you may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display, modify, or create derivative works of the Content without authorization.
The Site includes access to live and recorded audio/video conferencing services (‘Meetings’) operated by the Church. Participation in these Meetings is subject to these Terms and any additional notices displayed at the time of joining.
3. Intellectual Property and Licensing
Creative Commons License. Certain works published by the Church on this Site are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). You are free to copy, share, and adapt those works in accordance with the terms of that license, available at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/. Any use in violation of the license constitutes both a breach of these Terms and an infringement of our rights.
Exclusions. Except for works expressly licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, all other elements of the Site—including the design, layout, trademarks, service marks, and logos of the Church—are not licensed under CC and may not be used without prior written consent.
4. User Conduct
You agree not to: (a) attempt unauthorized access to the Site or related systems; (b) interfere with or disrupt the Site; (c) use the Site or Content for unlawful purposes; (d) scrape, harvest, or bulk-download the Site without authorization; or (e) post, transmit, or link to harmful, defamatory, or obscene material in connection with the Site.
You agree not to create or attempt to create unauthorized conference rooms, impersonate others, record sessions without consent, transmit abusive, harassing, or obscene content, or otherwise disrupt Meetings. The Church reserves the right to remove any participant or terminate a session at its discretion.
5. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites. We do not control or endorse such websites and are not responsible for their content, privacy policies, or practices. Accessing third-party sites is at your own risk.
6. Voluntary Participation
Exit. Your access to and use of the Site, and any engagement with the Content, is entirely voluntary. The Church does not require registration, membership, or enrollment to access publicly available materials. Discontinuing use of the Site or declining further involvement fully terminates any association or implied affiliation, subject to provisions that survive by law or prior agreement (e.g., intellectual property licenses). No penalty or retaliation is imposed for electing to disengage.
Meetings/ Participation in any Church-hosted Meeting is voluntary. Attendance does not imply membership or endorsement. By joining, you acknowledge that your audio, video, or display name may be visible to other participants.
7. No Warranties or Guarantees of Outcomes
The Site and Content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranty of any kind. While the Content may address matters of faith, belief, and salvation, the Church makes no representation, warranty, or guarantee of any particular outcome, experience, transformation, or state of being. Any spiritual or personal results described are matters of religious conviction and not contractual promises or legally enforceable assurances.
The Church provides its conferencing system on a best-effort basis and makes no guarantee of uninterrupted service or data retention. Technical issues may occur, and we are not liable for network failures or connectivity disruptions.
8. Termination of Access
We may, in our sole discretion, restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the Site for any user who violates these Terms or engages in conduct harmful to the Site or others.
The Church may restrict or terminate access to its conferencing services for security, misuse, or maintenance purposes. Only authorized hosts may initiate new meetings
9. Dispute Resolution
Governing Law. These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them shall be governed exclusively by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Venue. All disputes must be brought solely in the state or federal courts located in Suffolk County, Massachusetts. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts and waive any objection to inconvenient forum.
Waiver of Jury Trial. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you and the Church waive any right to a trial by jury in any action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms.
Mediation Requirement. Before commencing litigation, the parties shall participate in good-faith mediation in Suffolk County, Massachusetts. The initiating party shall bear the initial costs of mediation.
Attorneys’ Fees. The prevailing party in any dispute shall be entitled to recover its reasonable attorneys’ fees, court costs, and related expenses.
Class Action Waiver. All claims must be brought in an individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, or representative proceeding.
Limitation of Liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total liability of the Church for any claim shall not exceed the amount, if any, you paid to the Church in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. In no event shall the Church be liable for consequential, indirect, special, exemplary, or punitive damages. This limitation also applies to any loss or damage arising from your participation in or inability to access Meetings, including transmission errors, interruptions, or recording issues.
Time Limit to File Claims. Any claim or cause of action must be filed within one (1) year after it arose, or it is permanently barred.
10. Donations (Cryptocurrency)
Donations made to The Church in cryptocurrency (e.g., Bitcoin on-chain, Lightning Network, Monero) are generally final and non-refundable once confirmed on the relevant network. Amounts may fluctuate due to network fees and exchange-rate volatility between invoice creation and settlement. We do not exchange or transmit funds for others. We reserve the right to decline, delay, or return donations we reasonably believe are unauthorized, fraudulent, or restricted by law (including sanctions). We may require additional information for large or unusual donations to comply with legal obligations. To prevent abuse, we may enforce minimum and/or maximum donation amounts and apply technical rate limiting. Network fees are paid by the donor. A valid email address must be provided at checkout for the certain delivery of receipts; tax treatment depends on your circumstances and applicable law.
11. Other Policies; Incorporation; Conflicts
The following policies are separate documents and are incorporated into these Terms by reference: Privacy Policy, Exit Policy, and Licensing Policy (collectively, the “Supplemental Policies”).
Order of Precedence. In the event of any inconsistency: (a) the Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information; (b) the Licensing Policy and the applicable Creative Commons license control with respect to works expressly released under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0; and (c) otherwise, these Terms control. The most specific document applicable to an issue will govern.
No Conflict Intended. Any summaries of the Supplemental Policies within these Terms are for convenience only. If a summary conflicts with a Supplemental Policy, the Supplemental Policy governs.
11. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
12. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Supplemental Policies incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement regarding your use of the Site.
13. Changes to Terms
We may modify or update these Terms from time to time. Changes are effective upon posting to the Site. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
